ABOUT ME - DR AUDREY COATESWORTH - the author of poems, novel and articles

I trained as a Doctor at Edinburgh Medical School and qualified in 1962.Since that time I have worked for 35 years as a psychiatrist until my retirement two years ago.

Now I write - but not from scientifically proven research papers .These are topics chosen to illustrate my concerns and from knowledge, experience and expertise I have gained though my life and work. I am not intending to enter into any arguments or dialogue about what I write.People can read, believe -or not, agree or disagree. It is their choice.

All my life I have learned from other people - but only from those who knew more that I did about anything. Gradually over the years, I gained much knowledge -yes, from reading, but also from hours of listening and answers to questions. I studied the subject of Neurolinguistic Programming very many years ago - about how people think, and how the belief systems -positive or negative, that all people have, are formed. I learned how complex and intricate were our minds, about the unconscious mind and the mechanism of extreme coping.

But the final learning came from a journey of personal physical healing over 10 yrs - I was actually told 'it is time for you to be healed' - from an ill body and very damaged lungs. It was a very painful but amazing journey from long term chronic illness, through progressive disability, to near death to final health.That is all documented.What isn't as yet documented is the inner journey along which I plodded in the process.

In the future I shall write many books - these will be different . These books are about past lives, led over many centuries. I have not researched anything -but what I write will be proven - as evidence was left, waiting to be found,each time. The first one 'Beyond Mercy' is now published and on sale. This journey made sense of several happenings/events in my life .One example - when I was young I had a 'secret friend ' - she looked just like me, was very real to me and we played with dolls.She disappeared when I was about 7-8 years old. After that time I couldn't find her, but I never forgot her. I found out in adult life from my mother that I had never had these dolls - quite distinctive and memorable to me . More recently, in those healing years I found out that in the past lives I was an identical twin.

I have no doubt some people will disagree with what I write, some will be interested and for others - their lives will be changed. Everyone has their own opinions and can choose what they belief and decide their own behaviours. But, it they do question what I write, then maybe they they should know and understand their reasons for doing so - rather than in blind or prejudiced ignorance.

I am not intending to be critical, or dogmatic - though the writing may eventual challenge people to an extent that they feel I am doing so. Not at all- I am just writing ,as honestly as is possible, what I have learned - in the many variety of ways and experiences of my life.

Over several years I have written many poems and these have been put into books.

The first three books that I have printed and published are for children and teenagers - called 'Growing up', 'Coping with Illness and Grief' - for the 8-13 year olds, and 'Choice for Teenagers' -obviously for teenagers. I believe the core needs of many are being lost in the orientation and climate of the present time.I have also written adult poems.
